Border Song is a sad tale of a mother who gets separated from her son while seeking asylum. All proceeds will go to Together Rising (, a non-profit based in Northern Virginia that is helping reunite separated families . All the musicians and engineers who helped make this recording worked free of charge, volunteering their time, talent and equipment.

Border Song

There’s trouble in the land
I’ve saved up the seven grand
And I’m going to make my way, up to the border
The sun is sinking low
What choice have I but go
Take my hand little one, times will get better

His shoes are gone to ruin
The desert wind blew through ‘em
All along the way up to the border
The coyote’s awful rough
Enough is never enough
Hang tough little one times will get better

The break of day is coming soon
When we will be free to do what we dreamed we’d do

The river’s running fast
A lot of men in black
Round us up like we are cattle
They tear you from my arms
I scream and then you’re gone
What will happen to my child I’m torn asunder

What have I done
Where is my son
I did not forsee this happening
There’s no peace in this place
There is no warm embrace
Just the sadness of a thousand mothers
